Engineering Technology: Construction

“The construction industry is a huge industry... [that] doesn't get the respect it deserves.”

Michael Holland, American Council for Construction Education

The construction industry is a misunderstood profession. The word construction leads the general public to a view of hardhats and lumber; however, the industry also requires management and technical expertise that is often understated. The Construction Program is a coalescence of theoretical knowledge, hands-on experience, and technology integration. We believe that this combination assists to provide the community with some of the best construction industry professionals.

The UWF Construction Program examines construction of all types and prepares the student for careers in many of the industry fields. In addition, coursework is also designed to prepare the student to sit for the contractors exam. Our coursework provides hands-on experiences and is delivered in multiple ways (in class, in the field, and online) to develop student knowledge, skills, and abilities to help them meet their future professional challenges.
